"I am relatively new to high-performance driving but jumped right in with a high horsepower car. I started slowly using amateur instructors with an HPDE organization and developed some basic skills. However, what I learned in those six or so track days and coaching sessions with those other folks pales compared to the incredible skill development I had with Dave Smith for only two days at Thunderhill Raceway. Dave is an authentic, high-level professional coach and driver. His approach and teaching style was fast-paced but made information easily absorbed and accessible for recall under stress. He is the real deal. I found particularly valuable his demonstrations of various skills in the driver’s seat of my car; they demonstrated what I and the car are capable of when the proper inputs are applied. He was meticulous about recording my performance, and the video debriefs were compelling in that I could easily see the lines I took, both good and bad, all the while hearing his verbal inputs around the course. Whether you are a recreational track enthusiast or someone trying to get more seriously into racing, Dave is an excellent option if you want to drop your times and have ultimate confidence in your vehicle and abilities".
